In the “Naturalist’s Room”, different rules are at play than in general exhibitions. Here, almost everything can be held in hand, touched, and smelled while the room offers a taste of all the museum's collections.
This is a place where everyone can feel like an explorer and where conditions are made for free investigation. Here, we try to involve all the senses in the learning process. In addition to face-to-face transfer of knowledge, we also offer the opportunity for independent discovery. Among other things, you can get acquainted with certain specialties such as specimens of porcupinefish, whale jaw, tiger skull, cheetah pelt, pumice, nummulites, and Osage oranges. We would like our visitors to learn about the laws, curiousness, and beauty of nature to inspire them to further preserve and protect it.
Since 1992, our sessions and workshops held in the Naturalist’s Room have been the museum's most popular services.
We welcome pre-booked groups for our learning sessions in the room on weekdays, during the school term.
